First time contestant walks away with 17 ribbons at Fort Bend County Fair

Shown is Barbara Richter Gritczek with her winning art and her winning floral entries.

Barbara Richter Gritczek didn’t  have any idea when she entered the competitions at the Fort Bend County Fair for the first time that she would win big.

She entered 10 original paintings and won 8 first prize blue ribbons and 2 second prize Red Ribbons; with  four floral entries, she won 4 first prize Blue Ribbons and entering three photos in the photography contest won 3 third prize White Ribbons.  Does this set a record for the most ribbons by one contestant in The 77th Annual Fort Bend County Fair?

Ofter only 10 months of painting, she sold her first painting to be displayed in city hall, and has paintings displayed in First Colony offices, in homes across Texas and for sale in the Sugar Land Art Center and online.

Her first competition in last years Pecan & Citrus Show, won five Ribbons and one Regional Ribbon sending her Pecan entry on to the state competition.
