Water conservation workshop set for Oct. 26

The City of Sugar Land, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service-Fort Bend County and Fort Bend County Master Gardeners will hold a water conservation workshop on Oct. 26, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the T.E. Harman Center, 226 Matlage Way. The workshop’s $25 registration fee will include a rain barrel kit.

Fort Bend County Extension Agent for Horticulture, Boone Holliday, will share how plant selection and planning maximizes a landscape’s beauty while reducing water use. Landscape irrigation professionals will present water efficiency information and tips on how to troubleshoot irrigation systems. Rainwater Harvesters will share easy methods to harvest rainwater for outdoor use.

People with disabilities who plan to attend the meeting and need auxiliary aids or services should contact Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service at (281) 342-3034 five working days prior to the meeting so appropriate arrangements can be made.
