“Books to Film Redux” features modern holiday music
The University Branch Library’s “Books-to-Film Redux” night will take place on Monday, December 23, beginning at 6:00 pm, in the Large Meeting Room of the library, located at 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, on the UH campus.
Based on a book by Chris Van Allsburg, this modern holiday classic is about a boy named Billy who is very skeptical about Santa Claus, the elves, and the North Pole. This all changes, however, on Christmas Eve, when a mysterious train visits Billy in the middle of the night, promising to take him and a group of other lucky children to the North Pole for a visit with Santa. The train’s conductor, along with the other passengers, helps turn Billy’s crisis-in-faith into a journey of self-discovery. This film is rated G.
The “Books-to-Film Redux” night is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-633-5100 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
