Libraries help readers with electronic reading devices and E-Books

Do you have a new Kindle or Nook™, but you’re not sure how to use it? Are you shopping for a mobile reading device, and would like more information on the different options? Throughout the month of November, Fort Bend County Libraries will have Question-and-Answer sessions and workshops to help readers enter the digital age of e-Readers and eBooks.

e-Reader Question and Answer hours are weekly come-and-go sessions during which patrons can bring their devices and have their questions answered about the device or about downloading e-books.

The schedule of sessions is as follows:

• Mondays, 12:30-2:00 pm – First Colony Branch Library, 2121 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land. (The library will be closed on November 11 for Veterans Day)

• Tuesdays, 11:45 am-1:00 pm – Sugar Land Branch Library, 550 Eldridge.

e-Reader Workshops take readers through the process of browsing, selecting, and downloading e-books and audiobooks to their e-readers from the library’s digital library collection, OverDrive.

The schedule of workshops is as follows:

• November 5, 6:00 pm – Albert George Branch Library, 9230 Gene Street, Needville. Reservations required; call 979-793-4270.

• November 13, 10:00 am – Cinco Ranch Branch Library, 2620 Commercial Center Blvd, Katy. Reservations required; call 281-395-1311.
