Skeeters announce 2014 season game schedule
The Sugar Land Skeeters, who captured the best winning percentage in full-season professional baseball last season, announced their 2014 season schedule. Along with the game schedule, the club also announced new weekly promotions and the dates of the 2014 Atlantic League All-Star Game and festivities at Constellation Field. The announcement was made by Skeeters General Manager Chris Jones.
Opening Day 2014 will kick off on Thursday, April 24 at Constellation Field against the Freedom Division opponent Lancaster Barnstormers. The Skeeters’ 2014 game schedule features 140 games, with 70 home games in Sugar Land. The home schedule includes four games in April, 14 in May, 15 in June, 11 in July, 14 in August and 12 in September.
On Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16, the Sugar Land Skeeters and Constellation Field will welcome fans, players and coaches from across the country for the 2014 Atlantic League All-Star Game and festivities. The All-Star Game, held on July 16, will be just one of numerous events during the All-Star Break in Sugar Land. More details and ticket information will be announced in the coming weeks.
Several new weekly promotions will be on display at Constellation Field in 2014, including #Winning Wednesdays. All fans in attendance on Wednesdays will be guaranteed a ticket to a future game if the Skeeters do not win that evening. Sunday Fun Day at the ballpark will include catch on the field, autographs and kids run the bases, providing a great time for the whole family.
Thirsty Thursdays will be highlighted by discounted beverages, while the club will hold 11 Friday Night Fireworks events next season. Every Saturday will be Skeeters Night Live with varying items such as guest entertainers, giveaways and concerts.
“The support that the City of Sugar Land and the fans have given this team is second to none,” said Jones. “Our staff is working hard this offseason to ensure that we give back and plan awesome experiences for 2014. Hosting the All-Star Game will also give us the perfect opportunity to showcase Sugar Land, the Greater Houston area and Southeast Texas.”
Game times and a full promotional schedule will be released at a later date. Season tickets for the 2014 season at Constellation Field are on sale now.
