Sugar Land announces public meeting for Master Drainage Plan for Nov. 6

A public meeting to receive feedback on draft recommendations and updates for the City’s Master Drainage Plan is scheduled for Nov. 6, from 6-7:30 p.m., in the Cane Room at Sugar Land City Hall, 2700 Town Center Blvd. North.

The meeting will begin with a presentation at 6 p.m. to review proposed plan updates and request feedback from attendees. A brief mapping activity will allow participants to provide additional feedback on drainage-related topics and issues.

The City’s Master Drainage Plan is one of the City’s eight master plans and is a component of the Comprehensive Plan. The Master Drainage Plan update will document drainage facility ownership and responsibilities, identify drainage improvements needed for flood protection and establish policy direction on detention pond maintenance.

The plan will also identify strategies to achieve the following drainage-related goals found in the City’s Comprehensive Plan:

• City Prepared for All Hazards

• Clean, Well Maintained Waterways

• Well Designed, Well Maintained Infrastructure

• Effective Stormwater Management to Protect Neighborhoods

For more information about the plan, visit, email or call (281) 275-2780.
