First Colony Mall lights up the holiday merriment
Santa Claus is coming back to town and First Colony Mall is ready to light the lights and celebrate the season. In Santa’s honor, the shopping center is ready to flip the switch on the Jolly & Bright Light Show, a one-of-a-kind light spectacular that spans 465 feet across its ceilings delighting visitors of all ages with a 100,000-light show set to music. Santa arrives at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 8 and at 6 p.m. – and every hour on the hour until closing – it’s time for Jolly & Bright Light Show.
On Friday morning, Santa will settle into his cozy Jolly & Bright spot near JCPenney, ready to greet visitors and listen to holiday wishes and dreams. There’s no charge to visit with Santa and his team of elves will be available to take commemorative photos. He will be at First Colony Mall daily through Tuesday, December 24. He does take breaks during the day, so guests who want to drop by should check his schedule at www.firstcolonymall.com.
Santa’s Jolly & Bright Light Show features a dazzling display of light and sound unlike anything in greater Houston. Spanning across almost 500 feet, the show lights up the center with 100,000 energy-efficient LED lights in festive holiday patterns. Additionally, visitors enjoy a concert of holiday songs. The Jolly & Bright Light Show is controlled by more than 25-networked computers and backed up by 2,000 watts of rock concert sound. The energy efficient show requires more than 11 miles of copper wire and runs on less than half the power used in a typical home. Shows take place nightly, beginning at 6 p.m. and will be every hour on the hour until the mall closes.
