Lamar CISD students earn Commended status

Eleven Lamar CISD students earned Commended status in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Terry High’s Emilee Martin, George Ranch High’s Ethan Hoover, Mahak Mithani and Wesley Thompson, and Foster High’s Hunter Bartay, Vivian Dinh, Kathryn Gillespie, Denise Irvin, Nathaniel Krogel, Mallet Njonkem and Calvin Witt have been honored for their academic achievement.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2014 competition by taking the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
