National Oilwell Varco (NOV) hosted a sporting clay fall event where 100% of the proceeds went towards helping our wounded veterans and their families. Over 10 veterans participated in the event which raised over $21,000 to support wounded veteran heroes.

Impact A Hero, a non-profit organization that provides immediate and ongoing support for our severely-wounded post-9/11 combat veterans and their families have formed a partnership with NOV, a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and sale of equipment and components used in oil & gas drilling and production, to support wounded veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.

NOV has been a supporter of Impact a Hero over the last 4 years, and plans to host this annual clay tournament due to the success of this inaugural tournament.

“Our wounded heroes wear their patriotism 24/7 the rest of their lives through their sacrifices for our country. Our personal challenge is to wear our patriotism daily to support our troops. Impact A Hero is proud to announce that NOV has accepted that patriotic challenge to stand in the gap with our heroes,” said Jim Hoelker, Chairman of the Board for Impact A Hero.

Impact A Hero is a non-partisan, 501(c) (3) organization consisting of individuals and corporations dedicated to providing emotional and financial support for our severely wounded post combat 9/11 veterans and their families. Impact A Hero is seen as the most effective wounded veteran organization by our Heroes, their families, and the community by empowering our heroes to lead impactful lives. More information is available at

Over the last 9 years, Impact A Hero programs have helped more than 4,000 wounded heroes and their families with emotional support and emergency financial aid including arranging flights home so the wounded could see their families. Impact A Hero has raised over $6 million in donations through the Impact A Hero weekends and programs.
