Three teens taken into custody for robbery

A pack of looting teenagers was on the prowl last Friday in Sugar Land Town Square.
According to police, on Friday November 8, about 1:43 p.m. Sugar Land patrol officers responded to a robbery near Town Square. Sugar Land police spokesman Doug Adolph said two 14 year old boys told officers that a group of about 15 teens demanded their shoes and phones near Jupiter and again at Smashburger but they refused to give up their property.
“Later as the two boys were walking across the street toward Town Square, the larger group of teens called them over to City Hall, surrounded them and demanded that the two boys empty their pockets,” said Adolph. Surrounded by the larger group, the two gave up their cash, phones and other items then ran away.
In the ensuing investigation Sugar Land Police located and detained three teens matching the suspects’ descriptions at AMC Theater, they were identified as part of the robbery group and taken into custody, said Adolph.
The three juveniles were detained and taken to the Fort Bend County Juvenile Detention Center. They are facing charges of robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity.
This case remains under investigation.
