Animated children’s film offered at Mamie George Branch Library

The Mamie George Branch Library’s “Movie Day @ the Library” will take place on Saturday, December 7, beginning at 10:30 am, in the library located at 320 Dulles Avenue in Stafford.

This animated children’s comedy-adventure movie from Walt Disney Studios features the voice of David Spade as Kuzco, a self-centered young emperor of an Inca nation. Kuzco’s attitudes have earned him the enmity of many of his subjects, including a sorceress named Yzma, who wants to seize power away from the emperor after he relieved her of her royal duties, declaring her too old and unattractive to do the job.

Yzma and her muscle-bound assistant, Kronk, hatch a plan to poison Kuzco and take over the throne, but Kronk fumbles the assassination attempt and the emperor is turned into a llama instead. The emperor does not do well as a llama fending for himself in the jungle! A kindly farmer named Pacha helps the emperor-turned-llama find his way back home so that another sorcerer can reverse the spell, but their hopes are derailed when they encounter Ysma and Kronk along the way. This film is rated G.

The “Movie Day @ the Library” is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2880 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
