An “Old Fashioned Christmas” in Needville set for December 8

Families looking to escape the hectic shopping season and rediscover the true meaning of Christmas should head for Needville this year. An Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration will be held on December 8 on the campus of Creekside Christian Fellowship.

In addition to horse drawn carriage rides, hay rides and making s’mores over campfires, there will be lots of snow.

“There are many family with children that have never had the opportunity to make a snowman together”, explains Greg Garcia, lead pastor of Creekside. “Those are memories that will last beyond opening presents on Christmas Day.” Creekside hired a firm to create snow fields on their 15 acre campus. Besides making snowmen, sledding will be available as well.

While the children will enjoy making ornaments and visiting with Santa and Mrs. Clause, everyone will enjoy the music and caroling while eating kettle corn and s’mores. “These are traditions our grandparents cherished”, Garcia added. “This is a great opportunity to rekindle those simpler times and share Christmas with your family and neighbors once again.”

Admission and rides are free. Creekside Christian Fellowship is located on Hwy 36 across from the Needville High School. The Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration is on Sunday, December 8th, between 6:00 and 9:00 pm and is open to the entire community.
