First Colony Branch Library presents special youth programs in December

The Youth Services department at First Colony Branch Library will present two special holiday programs in December for children and families.

On Wednesday, December 11, middle school students in grades 6 and up are invited to attend a Holiday Party. Enjoy a holiday movie, and decorate ice-cream cones or cookies. The movie to be shown is a family comedy starring Will Ferrell as Buddy, an orphaned baby who stows away in Santa’s sack and ends up at the North Pole. As he grows up, Buddy’s ungainly size inadvertently wreaks havoc on the elf community, so Santa allows him to go to New York City to search for his true identity. This movie is rated PG. Showtime is 5:30 pm.

A Holiday Story Time for families with children of all ages will take place on Monday, December 16, beginning at 6:00 pm. Celebrate the holidays with an interactive story time, featuring winter holiday books, seasonal music, and festive crafts.

The First Colony Branch Library is located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land. The programs are free and open to the public.

For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2800 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
