Holiday spirit and sounds are resounding throughout our community!  The Middle and High Schools’ Choirs performed at the City of Stafford’s Christmas program, Oyster Creek Manor, Sugar Land Health Care Center, Comerica Bank, Methodist Hospital, and St. Luke’s Hospital.  They also performed a holiday concert at the Stafford Civic Center on Monday.  The Middle and High Schools’ Bands performed at the Stafford Centre last night, and pre-kindergarten students have performed in Jingle Jam concerts yesterday and today.  The final Jingle Jam performance is scheduled for 6 pm tonight at the Elementary School cafeteria.  Yule on Spartans!

Stafford High School Choir and Band students are advancing to regional choirs and bands!  Soprano Juliane Bilocura advanced from district choir to region choir and will sing songs in German, Spanish, Latin, and Russian to continue advancement to state.   Twenty-eight band students made the All-Region Band and four qualified as alternates.  Out of those students, seven are advancing to area competition in January.   Go Spartans!

Stafford High School students in Nathanial Joseph’s and  Sandra Driver-Matthews’ classes traveled to Rice University on December 5th to  attend the 11th Annual Rice Alliance for Information Technology, Entrepreneurship and Web Venture Forum.  They were able to get a first-look at emerging software and meet representatives from companies pitching their products to investors.  SHS Class of 2012 Salutatorian Brian Hua is attending Rice University and met up with the group during their visit.  Go Spartans!

Football may be over but swimming and basketball teams are in full gear!  The Boys Basketball team is hosting a tournament beginning at 4 pm this Thursday, December 12th through Saturday, December 14th.  All games will take place in the Competition and Spartan Gyms and ticket prices are $4 for adults and $2 for students.  A schedule is attached.
