‘Tis the season to celebrate reading, and Blue Ridge Elementary School’s students and staff were happy to share their love of books by taking part in their annual Book Parade. The event welcomed each grade level to design and display a parade float featuring their favorite book. Some of the books featured included Luke Goes to Bat, Caps for Sale, Toad’s Birthday, If You Give a Mouse a Muffin, Charlotte’s Web, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

As a surprise ending to the parade, the school’s administrators and staff danced around the cafetorium as elves to welcome Mrs. Santa Claus (aka Principal Deirdre Holloway), who danced her way onto the scene. The show’s theme was “Dancing with Santa.” Mrs. Claus danced with “celebrities” representing the faculty and staff at Blue Ridge.
