To help promote reading while celebrating the holiday season, Fort Bend ISD reading specialists (representing 49 campuses) held their “Books for Babies” event to benefit students enrolled in the District’s Pregnancy Education and Parenting (PEP) Program and their children.

Dr. Teresa Grimm, Dyslexia Coordinator, and Dulles Elementary School Reading Specialist Rhonda McCoy presented 97 books to PEP Program staff on behalf of the District’s reading specialists.

“The first teachers children have are their parents, and we want to ensure that our PEP students are equipped to prepare their children to become avid readers by providing books that they can enjoy during their cuddle times at home,” said Dr. Grimm.
