The Big Guns were out
By LeaAnne Klentzman
Yep, on Christmas evening as we were all wrapping up our family celebrations or dashing to our last destination there was a man out working the streets. He was not alone, there are many who had been there all day and all night; it is their job and that’s what they do.
They are public servants and they seamlessly keep the wolf from our door as we go about our everyday lives but this year, on this Christmas evening with no fanfare (or warning), Sheriff Troy Nehls was out answering calls for service with his troops. Who could ever have imagined a Sheriff answering calls for service, much less, on Christmas evening?
Story goes that as the Sheriff rolled and patrolled that evening he spied a car, parked in the deep recesses, secreted by the shadows…. Now you know what he was think’n … I got me a burglar! Well, as things shook out, imagine their surprise, when it was the Sheriff that broke up their Christmas interlude and…you can only imagine this … when he realized they weren’t burglars!
It is quite a change to see the Big Guns out work’n with the troops, not just roll’n around in his county car.
Makes ya’ wonder what he has planned for New Year’s Eve.
