University Branch Library presents family creativity showcase in January

January is International Creativity Month. Fort Bend County Libraries invites families to participate in a special Creativity Showcase at the University Branch Library on Thursday, January 9, beginning at 6:00 pm, in the Large Meeting Room of the library, located at 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, on the UH campus.

The theme for the day is “New Beginnings in 2014.” Families with children of all ages may come and express their creativity together using a variety of visual tools, such as pencil and sketch paper, scissors and construction paper, pens and stationary, or even crayons! This interactive activity provides families a chance to encourage the creativity in each other and explore their imaginations. Those who would like to show off their work are welcome to do so in the library display case for the month of January.

Unleashing creativity can be vital for personal and professional success in this age of accelerating change. International Creativity Month provides an opportunity to capitalize on the power of creativity, take a fresh approach to problem-solving, and renew confidence in our creative capabilities.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-633-5100 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
