FBISD honors dedicated mentors during National Mentoring Month
January is designated National Mentoring Month, and Fort Bend ISD is proud to honor the dedicated men and women who support our students by volunteering as mentors. National Mentoring Month increases awareness of the need for mentors, as well as how each of us – individuals, businesses, government agencies, schools, faith communities and nonprofits – can work together to increase the number of mentors to ensure positive outcomes for our young people.
FBISD currently has approximately 100 active mentors, who devote a minimum of 30 minutes a school week to support students throughout our district. To celebrate the valuable contributions of our mentors, the District will host a Mentor Roundtable to give current mentors, and those who are interested in becoming mentors, the opportunity to share their success stories, seek advice, network and learn more about FBISD’s Mentoring Program.
The event will be held on Thursday, January 23, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, in the FBISD Administration Building Board Room, 16431 Lexington Blvd., Sugar Land.
