Texas Master Naturalist Quarterly Chapter Meeting set for Jan. 21

The Coastal Prairie Chapter of Texas Master Naturalist (Fort Bend and Waller Counties) will hold their quarterly meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in the Bud O’Shieles Community Center in Rosenberg, Texas.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Texas Master Naturalist volunteer organization is invited to attend. The meeting will showcase the various opportunities the chapter offers for learning about nature on fields trips or during monthly program meetings, working together with other naturalists on local projects or teaching children and adults in the community.

The Coastal Prairie Chapter, Texas Master Naturalists has a membership of 85 outdoor enthusiasts. For the last 10 years, chapter members have enjoyed learning together and sharing their love of the outdoors with others.

The chapter is part of a state-wide Master Naturalist organization consisting of 8,140 volunteers in 44 local chapters with a total of over 2 million service hours as of 2012!  Statewide TMN volunteers have impacted or conducted projects on approximately 195,700 acres of habitat while also developing or maintaining some 1,775 miles of interpretive trails.

The Texas Master Naturalists program is sponsored by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. For additional information call 281.633.7033 or email mmcdowell@ag.tamu.edu
