Episcopal Health Charities donates $28,800 to Casa de Esperanza de los Niños

Episcopal Health Charities provided a grant in the amount of $28,800 to Casa de Esperanza de los Niños, Inc. in October 2013. This support will be used between October 1, 2013 and Oct. 1, 2014 to fund a Foster Family Recruitment Coordinator and expand the Community Foster Care Program, allowing Casa de Esperanza to care for more children in the Residential Program.

With limited space in its agency foster homes, the increasing need to serve more infants and young children at risk for abuse or neglect or affected by HIV can best be met by expanding the number of the agency’s  community based foster families.

Founded in 1982, Casa de Esperanza de los Niños – the House of Hope for Children – is a safe place for children in crisis due to abuse, neglect or the effects of HIV. Casa de Esperanza’s support programs address the medical, psychological, developmental and educational needs of the children. Services focus on returning physically and emotionally healthier children to stabilized homes where caregivers can safely provide daily care, assisting families to maintain a stable home where their children can thrive, and assisting children to develop to their highest potential.
