Book Club announces February selections

Whether you enjoy classic literature or a gritty crime novel, Fort Bend County Libraries invites you to share that love of reading with other book lovers at one of First Colony Branch Library’s book clubs. These book clubs meet monthly at the library, located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land, and new members are always welcome.

Members of the Sugar Land Great Books Adult Discussion Group meet on the third Tuesday of the month to discuss classic literature. The book group will meet on February 18, at 7:00 pm, in the Conference Room, to discuss The Approaching Fury: Voices of the Storm, 1820-1861, written by Stephen B. Oates.

The Amiga Book Club, a discussion group for Spanish-speaking readers, meets on the last Thursday of the month, beginning at 12:00 noon, in the Conference Room. On Thursday, February 27, the book to be discussed is El héroe discreto, written by Mario Vargas Llosa.

The book clubs are free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2800 or the libraries’ Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
