Marin family fundraiser rescheduled for January 31
Sheriff’s fundraiser for the Marin family has been rescheduled due to inclement weather. The new date and time for the fundraiser is Friday, January 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Marin family lost everything to a house fire in Beasley on the evening of January 6. That night their home, their pets, and all their worldly possessions went up in flames. The couple had no insurance so their coworkers have sought the public’s help in getting this couple back onto their feet.
Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel said, ” The fundraiser will feature a chopped beef brisket sandwich, chips and a beverage for $7. The event will be held at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31. Pickup will be in the parking lot of the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy, 1521 Eugene Heimann Circle in Richmond, across from the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Bend Justice Center.”
