3rd annual Black History Extravaganza to be held Feb. 6-8

Members of Hightower High School’s drama club, Poseidon’s Playhouse, will present a Black History Month program on the evenings of February 6, 7 and 8 at 7 p.m. in the school’s auditorium, 3333 Hurricane Lane, Missouri City.

Designed to educate its audience on the contributions of African-Americans, the production will showcase mini plays from Mary Satchell’s “Dream Maker” and Shay Youngblood’s “Shakin’ the Mess Outta Misery” in addition to poetry, dance, acting and singing performances.

Students will be charged $2 if they pre-purchase their tickets and $3 at the door. Adult presale tickets are $3 and $4 at the door. Pre-purchased tickets may be bought during lunch or after school in the auditorium. Admission to the event is free for faculty and staff.
