Free family movie matinees at University Branch Library

Fort Bend County Libraries will feature free Family Movie Matinees for Spring Break at the University Branch Library, 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, on the UH campus, in March.

The special feature on Tuesday, March 11, is an animated remake of a traditional French fairy tale about a girl named Belle, who is dissatisfied with life in a small village. When her father angers a beast living in an enchanted castle, Belle accepts the punishment set on her father and goes to live in the castle in his place.This film is rated G. Showtime is 2:00 pm, in the Large Meeting Room of the library.

On Thursday, March 13, families will be treated to an animated children’s film set in Hawaii. Lilo is a peculiar little girl who loves animals. Stitch is a notorious extra-terrestrial fugitive who is hiding from the intergalactic police by posing as a dog on Earth. This film is rated PG. Showtime is 2:00 pm, in the Large Meeting Room of the library.

The movies are free and open to the public. Movie-goers are invited to bring a blanket and pillow. Refreshments will be available. The libraries’ licensing agreement for public showing of films prohibits them from releasing the name of the movie outside of the library.
