Rough week for crooks
By LeaAnne Klentzman
This past week two off duty police officers have shot suspects in the act. One collection of brain trusts tried to rob an off-duty Houston officer; the other a burglar tried to steer-dog the officer. Fatal error!
What we have here appears to be catastrophic miscalculation on the part of crooks with exceptional target acquisition on the part of the cops. Yess’um, how many times have you watched the news and thought, oh man … if they just did that to an off duty cop that would show’m. Well, there ya’ have it. Seems that nice off duty Houston officer who had just moments before been enjoying a movie appears to have been in a giving mood, he generously shared several bullets with the carload of crooks trying to rob him. Wouldn’t ya’ just love to have been a fly on the window inside that car … as it sped away, everybody bleeding. So what do ya’ think they told the doctors when they rolled into Memorial Southwest Hospital…. I was cleaning my gun and my dog shot us all?
And in the other officer involved shooting on Kirby, only the crime scene is providing clues. In that incident a burglar was caught in the act of looting an upscale Kirby residence. Instead of tagging out, the crook decided to charge the officer and try and steer-dog him. Things did not go well for the felonious freeloader, he died at the scene. That officer was taken to a nearby hospital.
So, you decide…better target acquisition or, are the crooks just dumber than dirt?
