A multi-vehicle pileup brought traffic to a standstill Wednesday, February 12, about 2:45 p.m. According to Sugar Land police spokesman Doug Adolph, “A pickup truck pulling a trailer loaded with granite sheets sideswiped an 18-wheeler, jackknifed and lost its load on the US 59 main lanes at Sugar Creek.”

All northbound main lanes were closed at Williams Trace while work crews cleared the debris, the pickup and trailer. On lookers said debris was scattered along the main lanes as well as the north bound feeder road.

The freeway completely reopened at 4:30 pm. No injuries were reported.
