Learn about organic vegetable gardening

Albert George Branch Library will present a program on “Organic Vegetable Gardening,” on Saturday, March 8, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 9230 Gene Street in Needville.

Jennifer Plihal and Peg Turrentine, owners of Three Sisters Farm in Needville, will discuss organic vegetable gardening in Fort Bend County. Learn about recommended vegetable varieties for this area, planting schedules, sustainable growing methods, and raised-bed construction. Anyone interested in learning more about how to become a backyard gardener is encouraged to attend.

Plihal and Turrentine are Texas Vegetable Specialists and experienced vegetable farmers who believe it is important for people to know where their produce comes from and how they can grow it themselves.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 979-793-4270 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
