Learn how to start a business at George Memorial Library Program

Fort Bend County Libraries’ George Memorial Library, 1001 Golfview in Richmond, will present a program for beginning entrepreneurs called “Starting Your Own Business,” on Saturday, March 22, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm, in the Meeting Room.

Neil Polansky, manager of the City of Houston’s Business Solutions Center, will discuss business requirements that an individual would need to know before starting a small-business venture, relocating a business, or expanding a business. Learn about applying for a DBA and obtaining a Texas state sales-tax permit and a federal taxpayer ID number. Polansky will also discuss deed restrictions, financing options, technical resources that are available, the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and the Hire Houston First Program.

The Business Solutions Center provides free services and programs designed to encourage the development of small businesses in the Houston area.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at 281-341-2604 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
