Rosenberg Rotary Club’s Annual Gumbo Festival set for February 28
The Rotary Club of Rosenberg presents its annual Gumbo Festival, scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 in Building B of the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds.
The festival features some of the best gumbo this side of Louisiana along with Cajun music and Mardi Gras fun. The event also will feature live and silent auction.
“If you don’t have a ticket yet, that’s no problem,” said President Mark Vogler. “Tickets are available at the door and we’re looking for a great crowd this year.”
Funds from this event enable the club to present numerous scholarships to Lamar CISD and Needville ISD students, as well as other projects within the community.
Over the years, the club has contributed to other organizations, such as the Boy Scouts and the American Cancer Society. It also helped with the projects such as the purchase of playground equipment for Rosenberg’s Seabourne Creek Park and helping pay for a stage at the Needville Harvest Festival. This year, the club will purchase equipment for the new Camp Cloud at the Bates-Allen Park in Kendleton.
For the past eight years, the club also has presented personal dictionaries to every third grade student in Lamar CISD and Needville ISD schools.
Sponsorships ranging from $100 to $1,500 are available. Single tickets are $25 each and will provide all-you-can-eat gumbo and desserts.
For tickets or sponsorships or to donate an item toward the live or silent auction, call Tom Stavinoha at 979-793-4313 or Ginger Johnson at 832-526-2726.
