ACHIEVE shows appreciation for counselors at breakfast
Over 175 counselors from Fort Bend ISD, Lamar Consolidated ISD and Stafford MSD attended the Counselor Appreciation Breakfast given in their honor by ACHIEVE Fort Bend County at Safari Texas on February 12.
ACHIEVE expressed gratitude to the counselors for the significant role that they play in helping students to be successful in school and in the future. ACHIEVE’s Business/Education Task Force guided the event which was sponsored by Sprint Waste Services and Safari Texas. Commissioner James Patterson, chair of this task force, expressed appreciation to State Representatives Rick Miler, Phil Stephenson, John Zerwas, and Ron Reynolds for their hard work on the passage of HB 5.
Patterson said, “HB 5 empowers our counselors to work with students to move forward in the areas that they wish to pursue and applies common sense to the use of mandatory testing.”
Former Fort Bend County Sheriff Milton Wright provided the music for the breakfast and numerous individuals and businesses contributed door prizes to express their appreciation to the counselors.
