Library presents basic introduction to services

If you haven’t had an opportunity to tour the University Branch Library, now is your chance to get to know the library. The staff of the University Branch Library invites newcomers in the area to attend a basic introduction to the library, its online catalog, and all the resources that become available with a library card.

The orientation session will take place on Tuesday, March 11, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Computer Lab at the library, located at 14010 University Blvd, on the UH campus in Sugar Land.

Those attending will hear about different types of library materials, including eBooks, and about upcoming programs and classes. They will receive a virtual tour through the library’s website, and will learn how to access the different online services that are available on the website. Patrons will also learn how to access their online library account to reserve items or to renew items already checked out.

The orientation sessions are free and open to the public. Registration will open on February 25. Those who wish to attend may register on the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “calendar,” select “University Branch Library,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-633-5150, or by visiting the library.
