Book CLubs announce April selections at First Colony Branch Library

Whether you enjoy classic literature or a gritty crime novel, Fort Bend County Libraries invites you to share that love of reading with other book lovers at one of First Colony Branch Library’s book clubs. These book clubs meet monthly at the library, located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land, and new members are always welcome.

The new Novel Expectations Book Club meets on the second Thursday of every month, at 1:30 pm, to discuss a variety of popular fiction. The book to be discussed on Thursday, April 10, will be The Time It Never Rained, written by Elmer Kelton.

Members of the Sugar Land Great Books Adult Discussion Group meet on the third Tuesday of the month to discuss classic literature. The book group will meet on April 15, at 7:00 pm, in the Conference Room, to discuss The Innocents Abroad, written by Mark Twain.

The Amiga Book Club, a discussion group for Spanish-speaking readers, meets on the last Thursday of the month, beginning at 12:00 noon, in the Conference Room. On Thursday, April 24, the book to be discussed is En un rincón del alma, written by Antonia J. Corrales.

The book clubs are free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2800 or the libraries’ Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
