“Family Movie Day” at Mamie George Branch Library

The Mamie George Branch Library’s “Family Movie Day @ the Library” will take place on Saturday, April 12, beginning at 10:30 am, in the library located at 320 Dulles Avenue in Stafford.

Based on a book written by William Joyce, “A Day with Wilbur Robinson,” this 2007 animated Disney film is about an orphaned boy named Lewis who also happens to be a brilliant inventor. Longing to know what his mother looked like, Lewis invents a device that scans memories and projects them on a screen. He enters his invention in the science fair, but the project is sabotaged by the evil “Bowler Hat Guy.” Feeling utterly defeated, Lewis finds a ray of hope in the form of an odd boy named Wilbur, who claims to be from the future. Wilbur takes Lewis on a time-traveling trip to the future, where Lewis discovers the wonderfully wacky Robinson family. With their help, Lewis learns to believe in himself and to always keep moving forward. This movie is rated G.

The “Movie Day @ the Library” is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2880 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
