Sienna Branch Library offers intro computer classes

The Adult Services staff at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sienna Branch Library, 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City, will present a variety of free, introductory computer classes this month. The classes will consist of a hands-on introduction to basic skills for people who would like to learn more about using these computer programs.

The “Microsoft Office Sampler Session” for version 2010 will take place on Wednesday, April 2, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn more about this multi-program suite of software, which includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint, and how it can be used in the home and office.

MS Word Survival Basics” will take place on Wednesday, April 9, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn the basics of using this word-processing software program.

The “MS Word: Intermediate” class for version 2010 will take place on Thursday, April 10, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn more advanced functions and tools in this word-processing software program, and how to make creative documents using hundreds of templates that are available.

MS Excel Survival Basics” will take place on Wednesday, April 16, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn the basics of using this spreadsheet software program.

The “MS Excel: Intermediate” class will take place on Thursday, April 17, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn more advanced functions and tools in this spreadsheet software program.

MS PowerPoint Survival Basics” will take place on Wednesday, April 23, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn the basics of using this presentation software program.

The “MS PowerPoint: Intermediate” class will take place on Thursday, April 24, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn more advanced functions and tools in this presentation software program.

MS Publisher Survival Basics” will take place on Wednesday, April 30, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Computer Lab. Learn the basics of using this desktop-publishing software program that provides templates, clip art, and a host of other features for creating cards, invitations, forms, banners, signs, and much more.

The classes are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Calendar,” select “Sienna Branch,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-238-2952, or by visiting the library.
