Water and energy to be the focus of World Water Day on March 22

Once again, Houston Community College Southwest will participate in the United Nations’ World Water Day by hosting a day-long workshop Saturday, March 22, at the college’s Stafford Learning Hub. The theme this year studies the nexus of “Water and Energy.”

A collaboration between HCC Southwest and the United Nations Association, the event is held annually in recognition of the day the United Nations declared to be World Water Day—March 22.

A diverse panel of water-related industry, educational and acclaimed student speakers will present the latest ideas and technology on the subject. For example, members of the United Nations will attend, as will the Director of the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology in Barbados.

Free and open to the public, HCC Southwest’s World Water Day will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Stafford Learning Hub, 10041 Cash Rd, Stafford, 77477.
