Woman charged with theft from softball team

womanchargedThe Rose-Rich Girls Soft Ball Association has lost about two years’ worth of operating expenses to a volunteer who stole money from the children’s organization.

Donna Welch, 51, the former treasurer for Rose-Rich Girls Softball Association has been indicted and arrested for misapplication of property by a fiduciary, money laundering, and theft.

According to those in the organization, Welch liberated as much as $60,000. Reportedly she used the money for things like airline tickets to Las Vegas and lodging at Circus Circus over the last year and a half. Welch has been their volunteer treasurer for over 10 years.

Welch was released on $25,000 bond.
