Long time community volunteer, Thomas Gargiulo, known as “Sugar Tom”, was honored recently at the TE Harman Senior Center. Tom passed away in September 2013 and a Scholarship fund has been established at UH Sugar Land to honor his contributions to the City.

Tom’s family, wife Shirley, daughter Tina Rondinaro, grand daugters Melissa Kuba and Felicia Rondinaro, and great grandson Jack Kuba all attended. City of Sugar Land Council member Bridget Yeung contributed to the fund and Mayor James Thompson cut the cake. AARP Sugar Land members organized the luncheon and event.

The City of Sugar has further honored Tom with a plaque in City Hall Council Chambers in the chair where Tom watched each City Council meeting.
