Cuisine: Japanese & Sushi This restaurant came recommended by a few readers. It’s a small place in a strip center near Pecan Grove with a warm family feel inside.

The wait staff was very eager to seat me, place a menu in my hands and take my order…almost in the same breath. After needing more time to study the menu, that changed slightly as I annoyingly had to flag them down several times to get their attention. The restaurant was beginning to fill up at that point, so I gave them credit for trying to take care of everybody at once.

The menu is extensive and attractive. Every sushi roll plate was pictured by its listing, each plated differently with it’s own colorful artistic flair. They presented an additional happy hour menu that seemed confusing, if not a little misleading (my only complaint) and they did not seem to want to explain it. The main menu offers over 100 different sushi rolls, a number of tempura plates and Bento box options at reasonable prices.

The sushi ordered combined fried oysters, avocado, fresh jalapeno, carrot, and crab salad and colorful smelt roe on top. It was fresh, crunchy and flavorful. Each table was served with freshly made fried potato chips which were very good, albeit a little greasy. The service was sporadic, either hovering prematurely or not around when they were needed, but the food was great and quite satisfying. I will definitely go back to this one.

Overall Rating: 4 stars.
