Family Movie Day at First Colony Branch Library is April 26

The First Colony Branch Library’s “Family Movie Day @ the Library” will take place on Saturday, April 26, beginning at 1:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land.

Based on an old Chinese folktale, this 1998 animated Disney film follows the adventures of a young Chinese maiden in Ancient China. The young woman learns that her weakened and lame father is to be called up to serve in the Army to fight the invading Huns. Knowing that he would never survive the rigors of war, she disguises herself and secretly goes to fight in his place. During an ambush by the Huns in a mountain pass, she steps in to turn defeat into victory, and becomes one of China’s greatest heroines. This movie is rated G.

The “Movie Day @ the Library” is free and open to the public. Those attending are invited to bring a blanket and a pillow, and snacks will be provided. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2880 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
