Authorities search for more victims

Authorities are searching for more victims in theft cases involving a caregiver. In November of 2013 Joycelyn Dearmon, 41, of Houston was arrested and indicted for theft. She purportedly stole between $1,500 – $20,000 dollars from the 90 year old man she had been hired to care for.
Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel said, “Family members of the victim have since hired an accountant to review all of the victim’s accounts.” During that investigation they discovered that Dearmon had accessed another account and stolen additional funds there as well, explained Haenel.
Detectives also are asking anyone with information about Dearmon or potential victims of Dearmon to contact Detective Chris Matthews at 281-341-3864.
Fort Bend County Crimes Stoppers, Inc. will pay a cash reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of anyone bilking elderly clients for whom they have been hired to help.
All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous. Fort Bend Crime Stoppers 281-342-TIPS.
