First Colony Mall launches voting phase Of Celebrate Teachers! 2014

The finalists are in for First Colony Mall’s Celebrate Teachers!, a program that the shopping center launched in March to recognize top-performing teachers in the community. The names of the nominated teachers will be posted at www.facebook.com/firstcolonymall <http://www.facebook.com/firstcolonymall> beginning Thursday, April 10 and individuals can vote for a favorite teacher through Tuesday, April 22.

The teacher receiving the most votes on the First Colony Mall’s Facebook page will receive a $500 mall gift card on National’s Teacher’s Day which is Tuesday, May 6.

“We received so many nominations for top-performing teachers. It is very moving to realize what an impact teachers are having on students in our area,” says Diana Elkins, marketing manager for First Colony Mall. “We are pleased to announce the finalists on our Facebook page on April 10 and hope that everyone will take time to vote.”

This is the second year that the shopping center has recognized the top-performing teachers in the area. Last year’s top vote-getter was Brittany Rackar Pineda, a chemistry and AP biology teacher at Lamar Consolidated.

All finalists are part-time or full-time, state-licensed teachers who work in a pre-k to 12th grade nonprofit school (public or private). The school must be located within 75 miles of First Colony Mall. See www.firstcolonymall.com. <http://www.firstcolonymall.com>  for official rules.
