The Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) recently awarded a $3,000 Community Assistance Fund (CAF) Grant to Fort Bend Lawyers Care. Fort Bend Lawyers Care (FBLC) was founded in 2006 by the Fort Bend County Bar Association to respond to the growing legal needs of our community’s low-income residents.

Funding from FBJSL’s grant will be used to purchase and replace much needed computer equipment and accessories used to provide a high level of service to clients in need. FBLC’s goal is to provide the best service possible. The new computer equipment will allow them to continue their mission to provide low-income, Fort Bend County residents with equal access to justice through volunteer lawyers.

FBJSL accepts CAF applications throughout the year for grant funding up to $5,000 per year.  Applicants must be nonprofit organizations serving Fort Bend County with requests to fund a critical need, pilot program and/or expand a significant service to the community.  For additional eligibility requirements and to download applications, please visit www.fbjsl.com.
