Thursday, evening, March 27, about 7:50 pm, Rosenberg K-9 Investigator Schnacky reportedly observed a 2008 Ford pickup traveling northbound on US 59 with defective tail lamps.

During that traffic stop, Officer Schnacky was given consent to search the vehicle utilizing his K-9 dog Rex, said Rosenberg police spokesman Brain Baker. According to Baker, “The K-9 alerted to the vehicle and a false compartment was discovered in the rear passenger area.” Once inside that secreted compartment Officer Schnacky discovered 15 kilograms of cocaine.

According to Rosenberg police the street value of the cocaine is about $450,000. The cocaine and pickup were seized and the driver was arrested. The case remains under investigation.
