In support of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, Fort Bend ISD speech pathologists came together to “Light It Up Blue” by wearing blue-colored clothing. Sponsored by Autism Speaks, the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, “Light It Up Blue” commemorates the adoption of World Autism Awareness Day in 2007 by the United Nations. The annual celebration shines a bright light on autism as a growing global health crisis and stresses the importance of early diagnosis and intervention. “Light It Up Blue” also kicks off Autism Awareness Month in April.
