Skeeters take on Alvin Community College April 16-18

Local Junior College to Scrimmage Sugar Land during Club’s Spring Training

The Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball will take on the nationally-ranked Alvin Community College Dolphins baseball team in two Spring Training exhibition games, scheduled for Wednesday, April 16 at 6:05 p.m. and Friday, April 18 at 7:05 p.m. at Constellation Field.

On Wednesday, April 16, Skeeters season ticket holders and Alvin Community College students will have the first, exclusive opportunity to witness Tracy McGrady, Gary Gaetti and the rest of the Sugar Land Skeeters in uniform and scrimmage the ACC Dolphins.

All Alvin Community College students gain free entry on April 16 with a current student identification card and are permitted to bring one additional guest. On Friday, April 18, tickets are just $5 for students and general admission. The April 16 game is not open to the general public.

All Skeeters season ticket holders are invited to attend both games free of charge and must check in with the Skeeters box office upon arrival.

Led by Head Baseball Coach Bryan Alexander, Alvin Community College Baseball is having another strong year after reaching the finals in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 14 finals in 2013. The team currently boasts a 28-8 record.

“I’m really excited to have this opportunity to play a professional team in an amazing stadium,” said Alexander. “It’s not every day that you have that kind of opportunity.”

“We appreciate Alvin Community College making the trip to come and play us,” said Gaetti. “These games will serve as a valuable tune up for our team and I’m just happy to have Skeeters baseball back at Constellation Field.”

For live updates, fans are encouraged to listen in at KACC 89.7 FM and the Skeeters’ Sports Radio KBRZ 1460 AM. Visit www.alvincollege.edu/athletics to learn more about the Dolphins baseball team and to get a look at this season’s schedule.
