As dawn broke Friday morning a deputy constable was involved in a traffic accident with a teen on a bicycle near Katy in north Fort Bend County.

About 6:30 a.m., Friday morning, a Precinct 3 Deputy Constable was traveling south on Gaston Road at the intersection of Fry Road when a 9th grader from Seven Lakes High School, riding her bike to school, was hit by the Constable in the intersection.

A nurse was in one of the cars stopped at the intersection and was able to provide immediate medical attention.  The girl was taken by air ambulance to Memorial Hermann with undisclosed injuries; her family was at her side shortly thereafter.

No further information was available at press time regarding her injuries.   Precinct 3 Constable Rob Cook said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with this young lady and her family.”

The Highway Patrol is working the accident; the report was not available at press time.
