Libraries host special family events for Mothers Day

Recognizing mothers in May, the Youth Services department at Fort Bend County Libraries invites families with children of all ages to bring their mothers, grandmothers, and anyone who plays a motherly role in their lives to special activities celebrating motherhood. The events will take place on Saturday, May 10, at two locations in the Fort Bend County library system.

The First Colony Branch Library will have a special “Mother’s Day Craft Drop-In” from 1:30 to 3:00 pm in the Meeting Room of the library. Families will enjoy a variety of craft activities during this come-and-go event.

The University Branch Library will have a special “Puppet Palooza: Hats Off to Mothers” from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library. The library will present a puppet show and craft activities.

The programs are free and open to the public. For more information, call the First Colony Branch Library (281-238-2800), the University Branch Library (281-633-5100), or the library’s Public Information Office (281-341-2677).

The First Colony Branch Library is located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land, and the University Branch Library is located at 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, on the UH campus.
