You’d never know this place was Mediterranean based on its name. American platters, salads, burgers and sandwiches were offered as well. You order at the front, find a seat and your food is brought to the table. It’s a clean place with a nice atmosphere and Cat Stevens music was playing in the background, which I thought was fitting for a Middle Eastern restaurant.
On the menu were all the traditional Mediterranean fare including hummus, baba ghanouj, tabouleh, stuffed grape leaves, spinach pie, kibbe and falafel. Various types of kabobs were offered as well as grilled salmon, fried catfish, grilled or fried chicken breast, chicken fried steak, Pita wraps and hot sandwiches. For those that are vegetarians, a vegetarian platter, wrap, and burger were also offered.
The Mediterranean Vegetarian platter was sampled for this review, offering a variety of classics such as hummus, spinach pie, falafel, stuffed grape leaves, and tabouleh or Mediterranean cucumber salad. All were very fresh and tasty without any overbearing flavors. The beef kopfta kabob, seasoned with Mediterranean spices such as cilantro and mint had a nice, light flavor to it. To round out the meal a nameless chocolate ganouche cake was served that was to die for.
Over all, this restaurant was very pleasing. Not being a fancy place, it was clean, the staff was cordial, the food was quite satisfying, the combination of American and Mediterranean food offered something for every taste, and the background music was enjoyable. The prices were average for this type of restaurant. I would definitely go back to this one.
