Principal Irma Nurre

WOW! ZAP! ZOOM! She has the power to control 532 children!  She has the devotion to lead young minds to success!  She has the determination to encourage and effectively impact her students!  She has the compassion to make sure every child is in a positive and constructive learning environment!  She is a remarkable and incredible principal at Wertheimer Middle School!  She is the amazing ….Mrs. Irma Nurre!

As the principal at Wertheimer Middle School, Mrs. Nurre ensures that every student is in a comfortable and constructive atmosphere. “I like helping others, students, and staff.  I want to make sure all kids get the best education possible,” said Mrs. Nurre.  As a principal, Mrs. Nurre empathizes with students.  She strongly feels that “helping students understand the value of healthy friendships and the appreciation for individual uniqueness will lead to a more sociable future.”  Throughout her teaching career, Mrs. Nurre has felt that there are many challenges a principal faces. “I believe not being able to interact with all students and staff every day is an obstacle, along with trying to juggle many different roles…especially, making sure everyone is safe all the time.”  Above all, Mrs. Nurre respects, understands, and devotes her time to each and every person at Wertheimer Middle School.

A few years ago, when Mrs. Nurre conducted Red Ribbon week, she found that students not only enjoyed dressing up, but they all behaved better because of it.  She was convinced that it was important to continue this approach to motivate students to learn and enhance their primary skills.  Mrs. Nurre stated, “I believe dress-up days spark students to express their unique personality along with allowing their creativity and sense of belonging.”  A student at Wertheimer Middle School, Cambrie Reinhardt, commented, “I feel like it’s a great opportunity to bring more spirit into learning.  I also think that this activity is not only exciting, but fun!”  Another student, Julia Hobson, mentioned, “I participate in the dress-up days because it is fun to wear things you [may] not thought of wearing.”  Many students believe dress-up days are not only entertaining, but that the experience enables spirit, individuality, and amusement.

In close, the student and faculty at Wertheimer Middle are lucky to have a legendary super hero among them.  The school would not be the same without Mrs. Nurre’s heroic attributes.  Through tough obstacles and challenging decisions, Mrs. Nurre saves the day and influences the minds of future generations!  She is not just another superwoman; she is the beloved principal at Wertheimer Middle School!
